From France to Khoni: How Giorgi Nutsubidze Turned a Dream into a Driving Force for His Community

Success isn’t just about cars—it’s about proving that dreams, no matter how far they take you, can come full circle and create impact where they began.

In a quiet workshop tucked away in western Georgia, the hum of machinery and the scent of fresh paint tell the story of a dream realized. At its heart stands 32-year-old Giorgi Nutsubidze, a man who turned years of persistence, skill, and sacrifice into a thriving local business that is reshaping his community.

“I always knew I would return,” Giorgi shares, pausing beside a freshly restored black sedan. “The happiness of my clients – that’s what drives me.”

Giorgi’s journey began when he was just 15 years old, working as an apprentice in a small neighbourhood garage. With every brushstroke and repair, he envisioned building a space of his own. Yet, like many young Georgians, financial pressures pushed him abroad.

At 26, he left for France, seeking stability. What was supposed to be a short stay stretched into six years. In Grenoble, Giorgi immersed himself in the world of modern auto repair, learning from seasoned experts and honing his craft to perfection. “I stayed to get better,” he recalls. “If I were going to return home, I needed to be the best at what I do.”

When Giorgi finally came back, he brought more than skills—he brought a mission: to build a professional auto service workshop, create jobs, and raise service standards in his hometown. He invested in land and constructed a 135-square-metre workshop, but soon faced a new challenge. His equipment was outdated and limited, slowing his vision.

That turning point came when a friend introduced him to IOM Georgia’s reintegration support program. With their assistance, Giorgi equipped his garage with state-of-the-art tools – welding machines, compressors, dryers, and more – transforming his workshop into a hub of quality and efficiency.

Today, Giorgi’s garage is a trusted name in Khoni. From painting to body repair, his team delivers precision and reliability that keep clients coming back. But his success is measured in more than business growth—it’s in the lives he has touched.

He now employs his brother and a close friend, both of whom once considered leaving Georgia in search of opportunities abroad. Giorgi gave them a reason to stay: meaningful work and the chance to build something lasting at home.

“I told them, stay – let’s build together,” Giorgi says with pride.

For Giorgi, success isn’t just about cars—it’s about proving that dreams, no matter how far they take you, can come full circle and create impact where they began.
